Threat Intelligence Summary

TISUM for 23 July 2018

Recent weeks have seen data breaches and attacks directed at payroll/tax services and health care providers. Human error can be attributed to the majority of these compromises, whether mistakenly falling victim to social engineer, specifically phishing campaigns, or through misconfiguration of systems.

New malware have been finding their way into the wild, specifically targeting financial and banking institutions. Anti-virus companies are still trying to update their signature databases to help customers protect their systems. Updating indicators of compromise (IOC) files, firewall rules, and Yara signatures, can help mitigate the current risk exposure.
